Veteran Loch Garman Aris flourishing at age of 11 with 32-length romp
It may have taken until he reached veteran status, but Loch Garman Aris is finally showing what he is capable of.
The 4-5 favourite recorded an emphatic 32-length victory in the 3m handicap chase to make it back-to-back wins at the age of 11, always looking in control under Tom Scudamore.
Before winning ten days earlier, Loch Garman Aris had endured a losing streak dating back to 2015 when he won a bumper on his first start for Gary Hanmer, who was also responsible for runner-up Oscar Nomination here.
Scudamore said: "I'd go anywhere for a ride like that, it was great. He's in a real rich order of form, this is his second win in a row and he was second the time before that.
"We've gone a good gallop, but he jumps and stays. Gary's done a fantastic job with him, and with the other horses he's got. We've been lucky together."
Nine-year-old Mossing also recorded her first success when landing the 2m3½f novice handicap hurdle for trainer James Evans.
Ofcourse no surprise
Given Donald McCain has been top trainer at Bangor nine times in the last ten years it was no surprise to see he was responsible for Ofcourseiwill, the winner of the Bangor-On-Dee Leading Trainer 2020-2021 Season Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.
Ofcourseiwill scored at 2-1 to give jockey Peter Kavanagh his second career winner.
Hobbs ends drought
Philip Hobbs trained his first winner at Bangor since December 2018 when Man Of Light ran out an easy winner of the 2m½f maiden hurdle under Tom O'Brien.
The 5-2 co-favourite was an apt winner this week, being a son of world champion Manduro, whom Barney Curley, who died on Sunday, had in his yard.
