Veteran La Estrella fails to fire on comeback

Nearly ten years after his first appearance at the track, all-weather legend La Estrella was far from disgraced on what may well have been his last.

The 14-year-old remains one shy of equalling the record number of all-weather wins after finishing an honourable fifth in the 2m handicap.

The veteran's latest comeback was prompted after he had become a bit fresh at home for trainer Don Cantillon and he may well now revert to the day job.
