Vaughan hails Magic J as something out of the ordinary after debut success

It is shaping up as a vintage year for the current crop of juveniles and anyone within earshot of trainer Ed Vaughan following the success of Magic J in the 6f novice stakes will have been convinced they had seen another potential superstar.

While the winning performance was solid rather than spectacular, Vaughan could not hide the regard in which he holds the striking chestnut son of Scat Daddy, with relief his overriding emotion after a winning debut.

“I’ve had a few sleepless nights about this horse,” said Vaughan. “Without a doubt, I’ve never been this excited by a horse in my life ever! He’s something different and a proper horse.”
