Unstoppable Frankie Dettori steers Vale Of Kent to Bunbury Cup success

Notching his fourth victory in the race, Dettori broke smartly on the Mark Johnston-trained runner and made virtually every yard of the running from stall 14 to reward punters who backed him into 13-2 from 16-1 in the morning.
It wasn't all plain sailing for the four-year-old, though, as Dettori thought he was beaten a couple of furlongs from home. He said: "I kept my line, went left and used the rail as my reference point. At the quarter pole I thought I was getting swallowed up but as he met the rising ground he just kept on going."
