There was a dramatic finish to the opening 1m2f handicap when winning rider Sean Kirrane dislocated his shoulder as he went to pull up past the winning post.

David O'Meara's 5lb claimer had pushed out King's Charisma to win to delight backers of the 5-2 favourite, but instead of returning to weigh in, he jumped off and ran to the ambulance by the side of the track.

Ben Curtis, rider of runner-up Hooroo, explained: "I thought he was very excited about riding a winner just coming up to the line as he gave a bit of a squeal but when I got upsides I realised he only had one hand on the rein.
