With the help of a tail wind from the east as opposed to the usual westerly breeze, Unabated set a track record in the 6f three-year-old handicap, in the process providing jockey Daniel Muscutt with his fourth winner from his last nine rides.

Having travelled smoothly adjacent to the near-side rail in the £23,500 contest, the Marco Botti-trained winner had to dig deep to get the better of Letmestopyouthere and Silvestre de Sousa, prevailing by a neck at 12-1.

Unabated is owned by Mubarak Al Naemi and ended last season with a fifth place in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury. His in-form jockey said: "It was his first run of the year and his form was strong last year, I was quite surprised he was the price he was."
