Sam Twiston-Davies: rode Southport to finish second on his return to the saddle

Sam Twiston-Davies finished second on his eagerly anticipated return to race-riding at Ffos Las and reported himself to be in good shape following his first ride since sustaining a spleen injury on October 9.

After finishing runner-up on Southport for his father Nigel, the 24-year-old said: "It was a great first ride back. He jumped and travelled nicely. He got into a nice rhythm and I gave him a good push at the end. The body seemed in good shape."
