Amateur jockey Lucy Turner entered the new year in soaring spirits by defeating the professionals to land back-to-back wins on Burrows Park.

Turner enjoyed victory in a female amateur riders’ handicap hurdle aboard the six-year-old at Ludlow before Christmas and repeated the feat here to please a big crowd of owners in the Venetia Williams Racehorse Syndicate.

The amateur rider works full time for Williams and owns Richmond and Vic De Touzaine, who she is looking forward to riding in hunter chases and point-to-points this season.
