Treadwell gets in the National spirit again in Norfolk

Liam Treadwell has a famous Grand National success at Aintree on his CV and he added another in the shape of the Snellings Norfolk National courtesy of an impressive display by Amiral Collonges.

At £25,000, Tuesday's three-mile-five-furlong feature was the joint-richest race ever staged at Fakenham and Amiral Collonges always looked threatening as he travelled well under Treadwell behind long-time leader Carli King.

The seven-year-old, trained by James Evans, took over on the final circuit and apart from an untidy leap at the penultimate fence never looked like failing to lands odds of 6-1, despite Itoldyou battling on bravely five lengths back in second.
