Doncaster did its best to reproduce the Derby atmosphere by hosting a funfair in the middle of the track, but it was Durston who provided the thrills when landing the feature.

The three-year-old was a rare in-training purchase from successful trainer David Simcock by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing last year, despite the horse not having a win to his name

Paul Hanagan sat off a frenetic pace set by favourite Summer Moon in the 1m6½f contest before coming late to hold off Themaxwecan.
