The winners keep coming for Ian Williams and after a week to remember on the Roodee he was at it again as Cause Toujours made his stable debut a winning one in the 2m novice hurdle.

Williams enjoyed one of the “more memorable days” of his career at Chester on Friday, when new recruit Restorer won on his first start for the yard before Magic Circle did exactly the same in the historic Chester Cup.

“It was incredible,” said Williams on a scorching day in Sunbury-on-Thames. “I’d just felt we’d been missing the goal with a few of the nicer horses and it was great to see it come together first time out for Magic Circle and Restorer at Chester. It was one of the more memorable days.”
