The Ladbrokes Champion Chase was the first Grade 1 of the jumps season and it played out like a typical early-season event.

Road To Respect (170) is always on song first time up and he ran to his best to defeat Clan Des Obeaux (166) by four lengths in a steadily run affair.

The winner has won first time up for the last four seasons, including when taking this race by an impressive 16 lengths last year.
