Tomyris Royal Ascot bound after first Group 3 success

Tomyris booked her ticket to Royal Ascot by beating game front-runner Lincoln Rocks in the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Chartwell Fillies' Stakes.

It was the filly's first success at Group 3 level, and the obvious race for her now is the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes.

After Frankie Dettori had got Tomyris home by half a length on ground that had loosened on account of steady drizzle on top of watering, trainer Roger Varian said: "This looked an obvious place to come as Tomyris was already a Listed winner. I think seven furlongs is a lovely trip for her, although she won over a mile at York.
