Tizzard forsakes the building site to construct big-race win

From humble beginnings in the point-to-point field to landing the summer’s biggest jumping prize in the space of 12 months – that is the Tempestatefloresco story since he joined the Colin Tizzard team.

The nine-year-old was given a patient ride by Harry Cobden before coming through to lead at the second-last fence in the Listed 3m2f Summer Cup and quickly stamp his authority by stretching six lengths clear of Shelford.

Tizzard said: “I decided to take a day away from the building site at home, where we're having a new batch of stables built, to come to the races as I hoped this horse had more than a sporting chance of winning as long as the ground stayed on the faster side of good.
