Tithonus lands big prize for pick 6 players

Victory for 12-1 shot Tithonus in the sixth race, the 5f Mongey Communications Joe McGrath Premier Handicap, split the massive Pick 6 pool 22 ways, yielding a dividend of €69,897.

The pool, which had been rolling over since Irish Champion Stakes day on September 10, had failed to reach Tote Ireland’s €1 million expectations the previous Sunday but this time exceeded predictions, climbing to a record €2,196,763.

Tithonus, who was scoring for the sixth time, won by three-quarters of a length under Gary Halpin. Trainer Denis Hogan paid tribute to the five-year-old's owners, the T & M Racing Partnership.
