Wearing two hats and with a foot in two camps, it always looked likely Mark Johnston would win the Michael Seely Stakes.

He duly did. Half his interest disappeared at the start, but the trainer was still victorious thanks to the resurgent Lowther Stakes winner Threading.

As Sheikha Reika approached the stalls for the Longines Irish Champions Weekend-backed Listed prize she was trading as 13-8 favourite.
