Paul Nicholls did not just have the victory of Present Man in the Badger Ales Trophy to celebrate, for he won four other races too with Grand Sancy, Capeland, If You Say Run and Flic Ou Voyou.

Paddy Power cut him to 4-1 (from 9-2) for the trainers' title off the back of his fabulous five-timer, although Nicky Henderson remains a very clear favourite to defend the title he has won for the past two seasons at 1-7.

Grand Sancy was sent off at 4-6 for the 1m7½f novice hurdle and was the first of three winners for Harry Cobden when getting the better of a tussle up the home straight with market rival Shiroccan Roll.
