The future is bright for Peter The Mayo Man after impressive chasing debut

It was asking a lot to expect another superstar to turn up on this Friday afternoon but Nick Scholfield was in no doubt as to Peter The Mayo Man's quality.

It was in the novice chase on this card 12 months ago that Might Bite got off the mark over fences at the third attempt, before going on to score at Cheltenham and Aintree and becoming favourite for the King George VI Chase.

Stablemate Stowaway Magic was sent off 4-9 favourite to give Nicky Henderson a third straight win in this 2m3f contest but proved no match for the Paul Nicholls-trained Peter The Mayo Man, who scored by six lengths on his chasing debut.
