The strength in depth of Aidan O'Brien's equine arsenal was on display with a juvenile Group-race treble at Newmarket on Saturday, but so too was the personnel he can call on in the saddle, with son Donnacha aboard the trio.

With Ryan Moore required in America to ride Mendelssohn at Belmont Park in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup, O'Brien turned to his own progeny to take care of business on the Rowley Mile, and the 20-year-old delivered in style.

The treble capped a memorable week for Donnacha O'Brien, as he reached a century of winners in a year for the first time at Dundalk on Friday evening, before returning to the scene of his first Classic victory for more success.
