It was an extremely good afternoon at Epsom for two Italian jockeys and two very British owner-breeders.

Andrea Atzeni will remember this as the day he completed a treble highlighted by victory in the Coronation Cup on Defoe. Frankie Dettori will remember it as the fifth of five days on which he has won the Investec Oaks.

Mark Weinfeld and Helena Ellingsen are entitled to remember the day longer than either rider, for this was the day when after four decades of trying they finally won the Classic with a filly carrying the family's famous colours. Anapurna will forever have a special place in their hearts.
