The redoutable Top Notch displayed all his trademark tenacity to beat Cheltenham Festival heroine Roksana and Vision Des Flos in a thrilling three-way finish at Aintree.

Taking his career record to 15 wins in 28 starts in the 2m4f Class 2 hurdle, Top Notch capped a productive 15 minutes for trainer Nicky Henderson and owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede following the victory of Fusil Raffles in the Unibet Elite Hurdle at Wincanton.

With regular rider Daryl Jacob on Fusil Raffles, Nico de Boinville partnered Top Notch and produced a never-say-die ride on the popular eight-year-old to get the better of Roksana by a neck, with the same distance back to Vision Des Flos in third.
