Wincanton remains a playground for Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden and they continued their impressive form with a treble on a card headlined by Tamaroc Du Mathan's stylish success on his chasing debut.

The duo were operating at a 37 per cent strike-rate at the track before the day's action and they wasted little time getting on the scoresheet when Jeremy Pass and Zyon took the two divisions of the opening 2m5½f novice hurdle, which the Ditcheat handler has farmed for the last five years and won with the mighty Denman in 2005.

However, Tamaroc Du Mathan's victory in the 1m7½f novice handicap chase was the most impressive leg of the pair's treble and left Cobden just two winners behind Brian Hughes at the top of the jump jockeys' championship.
