Tom Symonds graduated from the Nicky Henderson academy that has no equal when it comes to the Champion Hurdle and the trainer might now have a horse himself for the great race in Song For Someone, who landed the Coral Hurdle under his former Seven Barrows ally Nico de Boinville.

Named after a U2 hit, the five-year-old is a general 20-1 chance for the Unibet-backed championship, which Henderson has won a record eight times, including a brace when he employed Symonds as one of his assistants.

"I don't know if Song For Someone is a Champion Hurdle horse," said the affable Symonds.
