As soon as the feature handicap hurdle went to a photo-finish, and especially when it was hard to split them on the freeze-frame, a lot of thoughts went to Fethard trainer Joe Murphy hitting the crossbar once more, but for once the truth of the camera was on his side as his stable stalwart Swamp Fox held on under Barry Browne.

Murphy's lack of fortune has been especially noticeable on the Flat, no winner and 13 placed horses including Born To Play, touched off in Sunday's Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh.

Swamp Fox was not to be denied though, even after being thrown slightly off the last bend where the final flight was bypassed and his main rival Polar Present slipped through on the inner.
