As punters cowered towards any cover they could find from the unrelenting rain, Ben Pauling was soaking it all up in the winner’s enclosure after the victory of Two Swallows in the 3m mares' handicap hurdle ensured a career-best season for the Bourton-on-the-Water trainer.

The seven-year-old, ridden by Nico de Boinville and owned by Carolyne Waters, notched her second win in three starts for Pauling, who celebrated his 27th winner of the campaign.

Pauling's team have bounced back from the early blow of stable star Barters Hill being ruled out for the season, with A Hare Breath, Le Breuil, Willoughby Court and High Bridge among an exciting Cheltenham Festival team.
