Mums Tipple emerged as a potential star with his 11-length demolition job at York last week, and the form of his Ascot debut win continues to go from strength to strength.

Surf Dancer was fifth to Mums Tipple at Ascot, but made it two wins on the bounce with victory in the 7f conditions stakes at Chelmsford.

The son of Lope De Vega still looked to be learning on the job, but ultimately had too much in hand for his three rivals and won by half a length for James Doyle.
