Superb comeback from Enable suggests she'll be hard to beat at Longchamp

Enable looked as good as ever in making a stylish winning return to action in the 188Bet September Stakes on Saturday, making the most of a straightforward opportunity on paper but still returning a Racing Post Rating of 126+, close to her three-year-old best.

In receipt of 8lb from Crystal Ocean, Enable had 10lb in hand of the King George runner-up on adjusted RPRs and was entitled to win in such style. But to do so on her return from the best part of a year off strongly suggests that she can at least repeat her three-year-old peak RPR of 129.

If that's the case then she'll take some beating in her bid for a repeat Arc success, as with her fillies' allowance the boys would need to run to an RPR of at least 133 to beat her, which looks highly unlikely among the current crop of middle-distance performers.
