The signs have been there this season that the stable of Tom Taaffe is close to a resurgence in form, and that theory was given further credence after the Straffan trainer teamed up with owner J.P. McManus and rider Mark Walsh for a double on the first day of this Fairyhouse's two-day meeting.

The featured EasyFix Handicap Case was the first prize to fall their way and it was won very comprehensively by the often promising Peoples Park. This €50,000 contest was not a bad sort of race for that promise to be fulfilled, and he could not have travelled better through the race before easing clear from the last to beat Caolaneoin by six and a half lengths.
