Classic races or major Group 1s aside, Sir Michael Stoute is not a name you see too often in Irish racecards.

But it was his name beside the winner of the Listed Garnet Stakes, the victory of Intimation meaning the Newmarket trainer was on the mark in Britain, France and Ireland on the day with Canada to come.

The daughter of Dubawi loves a bit of dig in the ground, and as others floundered on the rain-softened turf, Intimation revelled in conditions and scooted clear to win by a comfortable four lengths.
