A stormier Ireland might have ensured we had more than three runners in the Neville Hotels Novice Chase, but Stormy Ireland washed away her seven rivals in the Grade 3 Advent Insurance Irish EBF Mares Hurdle with a flamboyant front-running display.

The five-year-old has only one way of running and she was sent straight to the front by Paul Townend. Nothing got close to the 9-10 favourite at any stage and she galloped her way to a five-and-a-half-length victory over stablemate Elfile.

The performance earned her a quote of 12-1 (from 16-1) for the OLBG Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham but Willie Mullins is not so sure she is up to that standard.
