If you're good enough to represent Kevin Ryan in the Ayr Gold Cup you're probably pretty talented and Teruntum Star proved the point – albeit a little late.

Three weeks ago he was due to be the sole runner for a man who has won Scotland's richest Flat race three times in the last six years, only for waterlogging to put paid to the meeting.

The five-year-old showed how close he might have gone in that £200,000 feature by landing the Coral Sprint Trophy in good style, coming home a length and three quarters clear under Kevin Stott.
