Speredek makes all to land punt for Kapinhand syndicate

Punters who follow the money were in clover after the 2m2f novice limited handicap chase as Speredek landed a gamble, despite recent form figures of PP, making every yard in the hands of conditional Ciaran Gethings.

Having been available at 12-1 on Saturday evening, the Nigel Hawke-trained six-year-old was backed down to a starting price of 5-1 and never really looked in much danger as he stayed on stoutly in the home straight to readily see off Wade Harper.

Hawke’s assistant Eddie Buckley said: “Danny Cook rode the horse at Sandown and, though they pulled up, he came back and said to drop him back in trip as he's not slow by any means. We took his advice and here we are - Danny was proved spot on.
