Trainer Joe Murphy thought he might have needed the run but Swamp Fox begged to differ as he put up a spectacular performance to win the feature Lartigue Handicap Hurdle under Grand National-winning jockey David Mullins.

The son of Windsor Knot has turned inside out since his trainer fitted him with blinkers, winning his two previous starts including when last seen winning the big amateur Flat handicap at Galway, but this was his first effort in headgear over hurdles.

What a demolition job it was as he made virtually all and quickened clear from the second last to beat a quality field by eleven lengths.
