Space Blues earned his Group 2 stripes in the Qatar Lennox Stakes and trainer Charlie Appleby plans to waste little time attempting to add a first top-level success to his CV with the Prix Maurice de Gheest on Sunday week the race in focus.

Unbeaten since racing resumed, Space Blues made it three wins on the bounce after success at Listed and Group 3 level to leave Appleby sizing up Deauville's Group 1 over 6½f.

"It comes up quick but the Maurice de Gheest could be a potential target," said Appleby. "He's knocked on the door a few times and it would be nice to get the Group 1 tag around his neck.
