Smart start for the season as Aerosphere swoops late

Gregorian extended his bright start to his stallion career when his daughter Aerosphere came from off the pace to score on her debut in the 5f fillies' novice auction stakes.

The success was a first juvenile winner of the year for Bryan Smart from just three runners and the 10,000 guineas purchase could be back at the East Yorkshire track next month for a follow up bid.

The 9-1 chance did not make the most of her plum draw in stall one by being slowly away, but made up the leeway dramatically in the last furlong under Graham Lee to reel in front-running pair Shumookhi and the gambled on Immokalee.
