Smart duo Williams and Morley reap quick reward with Field Gun

Tom Morley and Stuart Williams have a deserved reputation for shrewdness and those who trusted their judgement were on a winner with Field Gun.

They bought the four-year-old last autumn and got an immediate return when the well-backed 5-2 favourite led inside the final furlong of the 7f handicap under Rossa Ryan.

"We picked him up at the Horses in Training Sale from William Haggas," Williams said. "He was actually withdrawn on the day but we bought him privately afterwards.
