Sister is doing it for herself – with owner laid up at home with a broken arm

Spare a thought for Caroline Beresford-Wylie. Breaking your arm is painful enough, but missing out on your pride and joy's day of days must really hurt.

The owner/breeder had to watch from home as Colin's Sister, a four-time winner in novice company in 2016-17, surpassed herself with victory in the Grade 2 bet365-backed West Yorkshire Hurdle.

Her mare was asked a stiff question first time out, yet answered it in style as she scored by two lengths under Paddy Brennan.
