Sir Pass I Am fails to follow up as Dovils triumphs again

There was no quick follow-up for last week's controversial Chepstow winner Sir Pass I Am as the Andrew Balding-trained four-year-old could finish only a well-beaten seventh behind Dovils Date.

Jockey Oisin Murphy came in for criticism from many quarters last week as he appeared to ease down prematurely when well clear and just held on by a neck from the rapidly closing pack.

On this occasion, Murphy did nothing wrong as he had Sir Pass I Am perfectly placed turning for home, but the horse failed to pick up when asked and was a spent force with over a furlong to run.
