Good things come to those who wait and David Elsworth was rewarded for his patience when Sir Dancealot ended a barren spell dating back to April with a second victory in the 7f Lennox Stakes.

The trainer had not saddled a winner since Dandhu won the Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury and fittingly it was his stable star Sir Dancealot – a four-time Group-race scorer – who sealed his return to the winner's enclosure.

"It's been a bit of a famine for everyone in the yard," said Elsworth, who is famed for his handling of legendary chaser Desert Orchid.
