There were odds-on chances in the first three races at Catterick but only one obliged as the previously frustrating Delachance scored in the 6f auction maiden stakes.

The 30-100 shot was getting his head in front at the sixth attempt when defeating Isabella Ruby by two and a half lengths.

David Simcock's gelding had finished second in his last three starts, going from Yarmouth to Hamilton to Ffos Las, but it was a trip to Catterick that did the trick for the three-year-old.
