Silver Trophy target for Bowen's Souriyan after consecutive wins

A wind operation and the fitting of a visor has worked the oracle on Souriyan, with Peter Bowen’s six-year-old continuing his resurgence with a second victory since the procedure in the feature 2m6f handicap hurdle.

Souriyan has some noteworthy form to his name from his juvenile days, including when finishing mid division in the Fred Winter and a length second to subsequent RSA Chase hero Might Bite in a Cheltenham novice hurdle when trained by Jamie Snowden, but had failed to score in 14 starts prior to his Uttoxeter win last month.

A 12lb rise for that triumph did not prove enough to stop the Gwilym Morris-owned handicapper ridden by Sean Bowen, with connections targeting the totepool Silver Trophy at Chepstow on October 14.
