'She's very good' - Skelton sweet on Nurse Susan as she maintains perfect record
Thursday: Leicester
Harry Skelton waxed lyrical about the ability Nurse Susan has after she maintained her unbeaten record when sauntering to an easy victory in 1m7½f novice hurdle.
The four-year-old filly was an easy winner on her debut at Carlisle and enhanced her growing reputation with a two-and-a-half-length success from useful Flat performer Zabeel Champion, with Harry Skelton not having to get out of second gear on her.
Skelton told Racing TV: "She's got a great way of going about her –when she walks around the paddock she doesn't turn a hair. It was a tactical affair that didn't suit, but she's only a four-year-old. I think she's very good.
"She stands over a lot of ground and is a big mare. To show that sort of ability, you do have to remind yourself that she's only four. We've got a lot to look forward to with her."
The champion jockey doubled up on the card when Go Steady landed the 2m4½f handicap hurdle, which brought up his half-century of winners for the campaign.
Love lasts out
Love Envoi did everything wrong, but she still managed to be in the right position at the end of the race as she made a winning hurdles debut in the 2m4½f mares' maiden.
The Harry Fry-trained five-year-old – a bumper winner in Ireland – pulled hard throughout under Lorcan Murtagh, but had enough energy in the tank to run out a length-and-three-quarter winner.
Lovely from Lime
Lime Drop made it back-to-back wins when an easy winner of the 1m7½f mares' handicap hurdle under Richard Patrick.
