When news broke on Friday of Emily Upjohn's missed flight from Stansted, meaning the Juddmonte Irish Oaks felt a bit like an episode of Fawlty Towers without Basil in it, Jessica Harrington was surely elated rather than deflated like the rest of us.

Harrington had gone from having a good chance of winning her second Classic to having a great one. Magical Lagoon was now favourite and the Ribblesdale winner was very much the one to beat.
