'She's a Pattern performer' - exciting Rage Of Bamby remains unbeaten
Tuesday: Leicester
Charlie Bishop has enjoyed big-race success on several Eve Johnson Houghton-trained horses and Rage Of Bamby has him dreaming of another big day after she comfortably retained her unbeaten record.
The promising juvenile made a winning debut from off the pace at Newbury but Bishop kept things simple in division two of the 7f novice, making all the running to win by three and a half lengths.
"She's been in good form at home and had a bit of a break after Newbury, she's grown quite a lot and she's come on really well," he said. "She felt much better today and I think she'll improve again as well – she's got a great mind to go with her ability."
Bishop linked up with Johnson Houghton for Group 1 success on stable favourite Accidental Agent and he believes this filly can make her mark at a higher level too.
"Without a doubt she's a Pattern performer," he added. "How high she can go, we'll have to see, but she's definitely up to that type of company.
"It'll be up to Eve and the owners as to where she goes next, but she'll go into Pattern company somewhere and hopefully we'll find out just how good she is. We were always quite confident. We have always liked her a lot and held her in high regard."
Johnston double
Auntie Margaret caused a 20-1 surprise in the 1m4f handicap for Mark and Charlie Johnston, and Outside World completed a 209-1 double for the pair and jockey Franny Norton in the 1m2f fillies' handicap.
