Sailing over the Railway fences at Sandown is regarded as one of the greatest thrills for a rider but Dave Crosse reckons that feeling is rivalled by a fine jumping performance down the back straight at Warwick.

Crosse experienced just that aboard the Henry Oliver-trained Sparkling River, who made all with a flawless display in the 2m4f mares' novices' handicap chase on her second start over fences.

Crosse, riding his fifth winner of the season, colourfully described the jumping of the Mark Dunphy-owned Sparkling River as “pornographic” with the daughter of Indian River holding off the late challenge of Same Circus to win by three-quarters of a length.
