Gavin Sheehan had endured a luckless spell in the saddle following his return from injury but he registered his first winner since his comeback on the impressive Anythingforlove in the 2m mares' novice hurdle.

Sheehan raced back to full fitness in mid-November following a broken wrist but little had gone to plan since, including when the pin on his stirrup leather fell out aboard the five-year-old at Uttoxeter last time. However, the pair made amends in terrific style.

"This game is about winners, they count for everything. I'm delighted to get Gavin back on the winning thread," said trainer Jamie Snowden. "Luckless things happen now and again, so it's nice to right that wrong. It's going to be a big weekend for him."
