Fran Berry was one of the first to arrive at Saint-Cloud and, after jogging a lap of the track, was reassured that a heavy morning dew would compensate for ground a little livelier than ideal for She Is No Lady, a courageous winner of the Listed Prix Scaramouche for Ralph Beckett.

“She has taken time to come to herself and you can see she is a big filly,” said Berry. “At York [in the Ebor] the ground was too quick over a flat mile and six and she just didn’t enjoy it.

"Today I was able to get out and travel away and get a bit of space. Despite the ground being a shade quick she got away with it. If she steps up to two miles in Group 3 company with a bit more ease in the ground she will be more than capable of holding her own.”
