Shark Hanlon extended his purple patch by teaming up with old ally Rachael Blackmore to plunder a quick double in the opening two chases.

The brace took Hanlon to double figures for the campaign and it is Blackmore’s ability to maximise every opportunity at these less glamorous meetings that might give her a shot at the jockeys’ title.

Mighty Stowaway, odds-on in the beginners’ chase, and Whatsinthecorner, a well-backed 5-2 market leader in the handicap chase over the same two-and-a-quarter-mile trip, were her only bookings.
