Sharjah an average winner while The Machine may be running out of power

There were just four runners in the Morgiana Hurdle but they went a good pace on quick ground and Sharjah recorded a fast winning time of 3m47.7s.

The five-year-old travelled well settled just off the strong pace set by Faugheen and Tombstone. As they turned in he moved up menacingly and was soon clear.

The pace was set up perfectly for the winner but he's young and progressive and, given the way he won, it would be hard to argue that Faugheen would have beaten him if he'd gone a shade steadier in front.
