The colours of Brian Kearney, carried with such distinction by former 2m champion chaser Moscow Flyer, had not been seen in a winner's enclosure since the great champion had landed the Melling Chase at Aintree in 2005. That was until the opening contest of Tipperary's point-to-point fixture on Thursday.

Robbie Power enjoyed his first victory in those silks, and it may not be the last, as Rebelion Boy continued the irrepressible form of Jessica Harrington's string with a convincing victory here, staying on strongly to defeat favourite Knockmaole Boy by 11 lengths.

"He's always worked well at home but he's just been a bit keen-going. He ran well at Ballinrobe last day when he just blew up and he's come on a lot for it," said Power.
